On Having a Future
So... I haven't posted in MONTHS. And I feel bad for it, because I still log in every day to read my comics and catch up with the few people who do still regularly post. I would blame it on having a busy semester, but really... I would have had time to write if I wanted to.
The semester is almost over. I have a final on Sat AM, and then I'm done. But that's not the exciting news that brought me to LJ to post something for the first time in weeks.
The news:
I got a call from UC Santa Barbara tonight, informing me that I was accepted to the PhD Linguistics program for Fall 2010. I'm shocked, and giddy, and excited, and confused, and... the list goes on. The application was just due a week ago! Other applications haven't even reached their deadline yet! It's so crazy.
It's not even my top choice, and I'm still hoping that I get accepted to Pitt and/or Georgetown, as those are the programs that I really want to be in, but I'm just excited that I have a future even in the case that I get rejected elsewhere. I'm hoping that an early acceptance is a sign of things to come. We'll see... we'll see.
