Another SG1 fic rec: Ex Libris by 6beforelunch

OK, it's official. I have fallen back into the world of SG1 fandom like *whoah*. It's only a matter of time, I suspect, before I actually try my hand at writing a fic or three in the SG1-verse (very probably Daniel-centric, but we'll see). For the moment, I'm well contented with basking in everyone else's talent. And wow, there's a lot of it out there.

One of the stories I found yesterday (I'm not actually sure how I ended up on the author's journal, but I'm really glad I did) was Ex Libris by 6beforelunch.

This is a short, sweet "character moment" genfic that has Daniel and Sam discussing the diference between being a reader and being a book person. And I just loved it. The voices are *just* right, but more than that, the discussion itself made me smile. Those who know me in real life know I've frequently used people's interactions with books as a metaphor for how they relate value to things (is the value in the thing itself, or in the experiences we can have through interacting with the thing?)... and now, seeing a couple of my favourite characters discussing exactly that question has just left me grinning.

So go. Read. Enjoy.

Hugs and blessings
