Another thing that I've learned and observed and am trying to keep telling myself is that so many things are completely out of one's control. There are situations that maybe you can try to sway your way by doing this or that. Sometimes that only results in a lot of worrying about what you can do when it might be better to just let it be. As AvLav says, "whatever's meant to be will work out perfectly." That's because God's got everything covered and if you just go along with what seems right and what God wants, you can go to great places and do great things.
A great prayer I've been trying to say often is the following:
Vocation Prayer
Jesus, I know you love me and have great plans for me.
Sometimes I am overwhelmed by the thought of my future.
Show me how to walk forward with you one day at a time.
Give me the courage to
search openly,
explore all my choices,
listen to others,
and pay attention to my own feelings.
By doing these things, I will hear your call to a life choice
that will let me love as only I can
and allow me to serve you and others with the special gifts you have given me.
Amen.
