"Oh, you'll get great hours!"
The other day, somebody said to me, "Oh, you're going to be a teacher? You're lucky - you'll have such great hours!"
I wish all those people who think that could try being a teacher, just for a while. In the past two days, I've spent 24 hours down at school, getting ready for the start of the year. That doesn't include the time I've been spending getting ready at home. And this comes after many trips down to my classroom before this week to get ready.
And yes, it's 3:30 AM, and I'll be leaving for work in less than three hours. I can't sleep, and at this rate, I'll end up leaving here super early just because sitting around my room for this long is getting to be rather annoying. And maybe I'll even manage to beat the science teacher across the hall to work. (And on a more practical note, beat the other teachers to the copier.)
