This has been a pretty good week for me. I think that things got so exciting that I ended up with the flu.
The beginning of the week I got to meet Anthony Rapp. For those who don't know I'm a huge Rent fan. I love the musical and the movie. Anthony Rapp is the guy that played Mark Cohen the filmmaker guy in both the musical and movie. He gave a lecture at school about his book and Rent. At the end he sang "Seasons of Love" and signed autographs. I have met famous people before but no one I really liked so this was very exciting. He is a pretty cool guy.
The next day I was at PT and surprisingly it was not a difficult day. The Col. stopped PT early and said he had an announcement to make. He told us if our name is called stand in the middle and we will separate you into 2 groups. My name was called and I was placed in one group. When he was finished he asked which one of the groups want to go to Field Training. Now I have been in ROTC for almost a year and this is the whole reason why, Field Training. I need to go in order to be an officer. Okay now back to the story. Both of the groups were cheering and Col Ward said well all of you are going. I was so excited. FT is a scary place but I need it. That night a bunch of us went out to have a couple of drinks and celebrate. I had a really good time even though I wasn't drinking (less than a month)! That night when I went home I crashed, I was exhausted.
In the wee hours of the morning I woke up with a sore throat that felt very swollen. I also had a headache and I was freeze and shaking. I was not very comfortable. I couldn't sleep so I watched a little TV and made tea for my throat. I fell asleep again but I couldn't lay down b/c it was so painful so I slept on the couch sitting up. In the morning I went to the doctor and they told me that I'm not really showing signs of anything but the symptoms and they way they came on is most likely the flu. At least this morning I went to PT and told them I was too sick to do anything and they sent me home where I slept.
At 4:45pm this starts my Spring Break. I really need it even though I'm sick I'm also thankful that I have time to rest and heal.
