My "Right Now" Wish List
I feel like this summer has been a bust. And I also feel like I've worked my ass off. Lately especially. Last week Stacy was on vacation, now this week Sam is on vacation. I've taken over both of their hours. I practically live at work. Sure the money will be great, but the tolls it has taken on my sanity and body are a big price to pay. You have no idea how grating it is to tell someone what day they can purchase their Fall textbooks until you've said it a billion times. Not even exaggerating. It's really annoying. But I don't need to go into all that crap. You've all heard that at least a hundred times and I don't like sounding like a broken record...no matter how much I do.
So I was thinking. If a genie popped tomorrow and gave me 3 wishes,this is what I'd ask for. Because this is seriously all I want RIGHT NOW!
1) A free flight to England and back
Even though I am extremely poor and don't have the time, I have actually looked up flights to London from Chicago and if I were to leave anytime this month, it'd be over $1,000. And I'm sure even if I flew over sitting in the cheapest seats ever, it'd still be like $800 or something. And you always still need money for a hotel, food, shopping, travel within the country...not to mention paying to check your bag(s) now. Geez. I will never travel abroad, will I? This is seriously my #1 dream! I'd even settle for Wales if I had to...instead of London. They film Doctor Who in Wales. I just want to escape my life for a few days. Everyone else gets a vacation. Why don't I?
2) A comfortable mattress
My mattress is at least 10 years old. That's pretty horrible. It provides none of the back support I need after a hellish day at work, bending over to cut open boxes, or lifting heavy books. Every morning I wake up and feel like I'm 100 years old. I already act like I'm 80. I might as well check myself into a retirement community and skip mid-life.
3) A twin
My friend tweeted not long ago that she needed a nap and at least 2 clones. I'd be ok with one...maybe another if I was really feeling lazy. This twin of mine would know everything I know about work, and would have a stronger work ethic and be way smarter and quicker than I am, Not to say that I suck at my job. I've worked there on and off for 4 years now. But if someone could do it for me, that would be great. Then I could sneak over to England or sleep in on my new Tempurpedic mattress for as long as I wished. She could go to school for me too. I am becoming more and more ridiculous as this list progresses.
