THIS: Alfred stayed very still, until finally Arthur curled his arms around Alfred’s back. Every muscle in both their bodies were tight, and it was hard to believe they could possibly relax. SUCH A PAINFULLY AWKWARD, WONDERFULLY WRITTEN BIT. Jeebus. I could just see that happening, feel that tension in my own spine and guh. Perfect, random little actions *__ ( ... )

Have I mentioned yet how much I adore your comments? I swear, sometimes you can summarize so many things I was trying to articulate so well, and say things that I just couldn't really express even in my own thoughts. They always make me smile ( ... )

eee Thank you so much! I'm still working on getting used to him as a character, so these kinds of situations are always fun to portray.

Oh, wow. Some parts of there actually broke my heart but it's still wonderful.
I really enjoyed reading this chapter and I'm excited to see the next part!

Wow, I love the "do you see me as a child still?" part. England probably doesn't see him as a kid at all but he can't say anything because America will just seize the chance to prove that he should be in charge of himself as an adult. And talk about the most awkward cuddling scene ever. I think both of them are going to be busted up by the end of this fic.

And France was brilliant, of course. He would probably know how thin that line is between hate/love.

I'm really glad you liked that part. Honestly, that was one of my favorite parts to write for this entire fic. I think it's a really weighed question, and one that definitely would define their relationship. (At the same time, lol America, if he saw you as a child why would he sleep with you? Anyway.)

And I'm super pleased to know you liked France! Like I said in a comment above, I wanted to give him more depth and understanding and, yeah, he definitely understands that line. I didn't want for this fic to end and people to paint him as the "villain" for "making" Alfred do this. As a character, I find him incredibly fascinating.

Thanks so much for reading!

I'm really happy you're enjoying it! Thank you so much for reading!

I absolutely agree, though. Though it's true that Alfred isn't a child anymore, there's still a lot that he doesn't realize... and for that reason, especially in such an emotional situation as this, he really betrays himself.

I'm suuuper happy you're enjoying the characterization. I was definitely nervous about it since I don't usually write fic for this era, much less like this.

Thanks again for reading!
