Aaaarghhh... people

Today has been a day of reckoning indeed. Or maybe I'm just doing some personal spring cleaning. It started with a two a.m. call last night from Renee, who I have barely spoken to since we broke up. She was calling from Oregon and felt she needed to talk to me and wants to talk in person this weekend when she comes back. She ended the conversation with a "let's reconnect" and "I love you". WTF?
Then I received a reply to an email that I sent to Stephanie, who had been staying at my house for a while in the winter. I asked her to come pick up her plant she left here. She replied saying that she thinks she offended me. I just flat out told her I'm over the games she plays with people, and that to me, friendships go beyond when people are simply useful to eachother. I also asked her for my antique salt and pepper shakers back. They've been missing since she left.
God, why are people so crazy? At least in NY people said what they felt. Here they're all la dee da about saying what's going on, and it ends up coming out in a sickly sweet manipulative way. I really appreciate that NVC training I had, but I'm more about the verbal crowbars right now.
