Every year for my birthday my Grandfather would take me to the local book store to pick up new books. I got used books aplenty, but new books were a treat. When I finally got a job at 15, I started buying my own books, but Grandpa always treated me on my birthday trip. In my senior year of high school I picked up a book called "When Demon's Walk

Alpha and Omega. What to say, what to say. I picked up On the Prowl (short story book) simply because it had the Patricia Briggs short story in it. I read it and was amazed. Awed even. The short story stuck with me. I've re-read it at least a dozen times. I think it's my favorite thing I've read by Patricia. I nearly screamed with delight when I found out Patricia had been contracted for at least three more Anna and Charles books. I couldn't wait. I scoured Hurog (Patricia's website) to find out more about it. She kept saying that the first book wasn't as good as it could have been because she was working it off of a short story that she didn't end properly to become a book. With that in mind, I read the first book Cry Wolf. Through the first part of the book she was busy wrapping up the short story and it's not until half way through the book that you really start getting the plot. The book it's self is a bit shaky, but I still love it. I think it's more because I really like Anna and Charles. They make the book for me even if the book isn't as polished a piece as I usually see from Patricia. I say read them and make your own opinion. But I liked them!

I'm also glad she finally made her choice, and I'm thrilled with her choice. The other option to me just didn't feel right.
I wonder sometimes how connected some authors are to their characters. With the events that occured within IK, and to the MC, would have been so difficult to write.
I absolutely loved it.
I desperately want to read the next book, but since I have the rest of the series in paperback, I'll likely be waiting until it comes in paperback. Either that, or I'll have to go back and buy the first 3 books in hardcover... we'll have to see. Give the paperback versions to my cousin, I think she'd really enjoy them.
Question about the KMM books, they're found in the romance section, which isn't typically my thing, but I read some reviews on them that pretty much saide they didn't really belong there. What's your opinion on her fae series? Are they romance or not really?

The Fever series is dark horror (mixed with just a touch of pink for added strength). The main character, Mac, starts out as this sweet sun-kissed twenty something. By the end of book one, she's struggling and fighting to survive in a world she doesn't understand. By book three she's trading blows with the world and has found a purpose for the how-to-survive, but still hasn't quite figured out the how-do-I-fix-it. The secondary characters Jericho Barnes and V'Lane (a death by sex fae) are as deep and mysterious as they can be, with just the right touch of allure.
To be truthful, I was suggested this series when the second book was release into hardcover. I kept putting it off because I wasn't in the mood for another 'fairy' book. I was thinking bubble gum and mischief (because I was judging by her Highlander series that I didn't like). After much needling I picked up the first book. I was damn glad that the third book had come out because I read all three in a single weekend. They are good dark horror with just enough mystery thrown in to make me salivate for the next book. Try them. They are like good dark chocolate, just the right amount of bite.
Looking at my reply, I realized I babbled. Sorry! :)
