Hello Everyone :),

I had a wonderful shopping trip to Alexandria yesterday with my friend Carocrow! I got a new executive chair for gbdances (he loves it), also a file cabinet (he is less than thrilled with). Purchased some striped ribbons in grograin fabric for the Troll Queen's belt collection along with a small sewing kit for her and some hot pink/orange throw pillows for her bed. Then spent entirely way too much on a very very lush set of egyptian cotton sheets and comforter set in the lighest most beautiful seafoam color I have ever seen (gb loves the set but I really shouldn't have done it)...I also got a lovely ten dollar buddha about 15 inches high sitting with a lotus, the lotus has a space for tea light candles and is wonderful. Then we went out to dinner, exhausted from the long day shopping. It was a lovely trip. I am so very lucky to have met Ro, she is a great friend, so very giving and loving.

I learned today that as of October 5th most of Orleans parish will be allowed back in for a bit, though there is no electricity, running water, etc.. I immediately set up an appointment with the appraiser to meet him on the 6th at 1pm at my home in Gentilly. He was surprised that we were being allowed back into the city, and said that he thought there would be nothing very much left to appraise at my location, since it was smack dab in the middle of the mess. Though it was a very discouraging conversation, my friend Carocrow has offered to make the journey with me (gb will be working, the tq in school), I can not thank her enough for being willing to come look at the devestation of my life with me. I don't really think that anything will be very salvagable, but need to get the appraisal for the mortgage done, hopefully I will be able to sell the property if the mortgage company is paid off.

Tomorrow GB is heading down to Alexandria to get the Scion tuned up and do a bit of shopping with my daughter. Ro and I plan on doing some drawing and having some hot tea, I look forward to the time to just unwind and do a few sketches. Hopefully I will get the downstairs tidied up early in the morning and am seriouosly thinking of simply ordering pizza when gb gets home in the evening...making for a day to just enjoy my friend and draw.

To those going through trials, my thoughts and love and kind wishes reach out across the miles to hug you and tell you.....everything's gonna be alright.
