His fingers lace together like fences, and here, they float. They do not fall and they do not slip through the cracks; she hovers and whirls inside his hands and laughs and laughs and laughs and he watches her face with raptly fierce joy.
Or perhaps it is his own reflection that he sees, that shared and mingled warmth from when he looks into her eyes; or his wishes for her, being channeled outward to perhaps wrap around her own sleeping mind like a shield.
Or perhaps being channeled into something else entirely, something that she can carry like a token of chivalrous love, something that would serve as her token on the rivers between the worlds (or to a little world all their own).
