Archaeology 101

I have a habit of scribbling notes down so I don't forget something, but then not transferring that note to something more permanent.  So when I end up going through old papers, I find some of these ancient notes, and subesquently try to make sense of them without any context.  It's like I'm translating heiroglyphics.  (The sketchy handwriting doesn't help matters.)

The other day I find a paper with the following:

8/3 - Go to negotiate with Elves.  End in forest.

8/17 - Fight with manticores.  End on mountain.

8/24 - Fight in cave.  End mid-battle.

9/7 - Fight in cave finishes, Cookie's Death/Return

9/21 - Fight with "merchants." Everyone dies.

Okay, dates in sequence and some brief notes, as if they were part of a larger entity.  Mentions of elves, manticores and fights.  Sounds like a fantasy game or something.  Something about the death and return of someone named "Cookie?"  Huh, that's an unusual name.  And the final entry seems to be for 9/21, ending with "everyone dies."  And that's where it ends.

Six years now, Eli!  SIX!
