Up Late and Yet Feelin' Great!
I guess if I had known months ago that a little pink penguin meant Linux is in your future... I would have not minded watching people get laid off in mass amounts or being unemployed for five weeks O.o or having the hand strain from the job that followed (doing foreclosure paperwork...).
But now, now I guess those things are slowly fading from my mind. I don't think I could begin to describe how happy I am to be where I have landed.
If you have a Mac or Linux OS and you haven't heard... you can run windows (you know, that microsoft stuff) on it. Ha, ha, ha.
And it would be funny, but I had no clue until about three months ago, when I started the interview process.
And that is about as far as a shameless promote gets.
I certainly miss the people at Merrill (if they are still there, who knows anymore? I mean, a company that just wipes a grouping of good/decent employees... I know that finances were looking rough, but how about a little employee loyalty?), and I wish I had gotten to know the people at Fidelity a bit better... but who can really beat working with a group of people you are truly comfortable with.
I know it means that I have a lot of work and learning ahead of me, but I really enjoy what I am doing now. The sky is pretty much the limit for anything I want to learn (no one is going to say... "you can't learn that platform because blah blah blah", and no one is going to say... "well, you can work on that stuff, but first finish this stack of 700+ documents that have to be processed, and oh by the way, these are just the ones that came in last night, today's are printing..."). Sure, I have my fair share of customer interaction, but nothing out of line.
And... who gets to surf the net (within reason mind you) without worrying about someone 'finding out'. ME!
Oh, and if it snows and the roads aren't in good condition for the day... who has the option of working from home? Ah, same as above!
Now if I could just win the lottery... or figure out how to get a ton of traffic to a facebook page (not mine, blah facebook).
Oooo... guess the Packers are going back to sucking for a while. I have mixed feelings for as far as I get involved... he is a whiner... but man, that is one way to really feel that your team is NOT behind you. I wish him luck (I hate the Jets), but I hope when he comes to Lambo that he CHOKES! Green Bay all the Way! Off my sports kick.
