As I was leaving the student lounge, I noticed directly up against the seal of the doorway, there was a tiny, fat snake. It was only about as long as my hand, but it was so big around that I knew it wasn't an adult, and when I looked closer, I saw that it had been stepped on or squashed at the head and neck. I also immediately noticed that it looked like a copperhead. Since it was mostly dead, I thought I'd toss it outside somewhere more pleasant than the doorway, but when I got a wad of paper towels to pick it up with and tried to, it got violent for a moment, and I lost the nerve. I feel sad for it, but I also have a healthy fear of venomous snakes.

Sooo I looked up copperheads online just now, and that is indeed what it is. A tiny baby copperhead.

Gah. *shake*

That, and the skunk I had to walk past the other day... Yay, nature. They keep telling me that around here, supposedly 80% of the skunks are rabid. Wehhh? I don't know if I believe that.
