I Need Help From Fellow Rabbit Lovers!!
Hello Everyone!
My name is Chelsea and I live in the Buffalo Area.. and I am looking for some help from fellow rabbit owners.
There has been a case of animal cruelty that has occurred recently in my area. And typically when a case of animal cruelty is discussed, normally dogs and cats are involved. Not in this case.... A horrible thing has happened to a rabbit in a domestic violence case, where a rabbit has died. I'm not going to say what exactly happened, because it is that cruel, but If you really with to know, feel free to contact me for more information.
Currently we have over 700 signatures on a petition to try to keep this case at a felony level instead of getting it dropped to a misdemeanor.
Unfortunately this petition is not going to be enough to show the Judge and the District Attorney that this case deserves more than a slap on the wrist. After a professor of mine meet with the District Attorney in my area, it has come to my attention that what is desperately needed in addition to the numerous signatures is photographs accompanied by letters to the District Attorney basically stating that Rabbits Are Companion Animals. The basic argument in this case is rabbits are not companion animals. We need to prove this argument otherwise.
I need help from everyone who owns or has own bunnies and people who are willing to email me letters with photos of their companion rabbits. My email is bunnies_as_companions@yahoo.com Every can make a difference here!!
