Warning: Poetry

Bascullo ad Cunnum

She started seven fires
In seven lonely hearts
Who were lead by seven liars
And imprisoned in the dark
She opened seven pairs of eyes
And opened seven gates
Closed and locked by fear’s disguise
That sealed seven fates
But seven wills did weaken
At the thought of freedom
For we are comfort-seeking
And lies tell us we need them

But credit her with skill and wit
For a plan so intricate
Upon the light does she aspire
One spark to start those seven fires

So she plucked seven roses
From seven thorny vines
Seducing seven noses
Their pollen burned like wine
And she sang seven songs
That melted seven hearts
And rang out like seven gongs
In that prison in the dark
She drank from seven fountains
Daredevil did she dive
She brought down seven mountains
And she was so alive

Living now but all alone
Traded song for heart of stone
Crucified for her collection
Holding back the resurrection

Her love was forty lashes
But seven backs did bear it
Her gown was sack and ashes
But seven brides did wear it
Her touch was an inferno
And seven writhed in flame
But seven would not let go
Beloved and untamed
Seven in devotion
Heaven to embrace
In the music of her motion
Known by perfect grace

And seven fires burned her away
Nothing left- gone to stay
But they had seen through fear’s disguise
And like a phoenix
She did rise
