The Laws of Tech

According to techradar, there are ten rules that can explain everything regarding the world of technology. These below won't be ordered by importance though. The orders are random.

1. Moore's Law
"The number of transistors that can be put on an integrated circuit doubles every two years."

2. Kryder's Law
(Related to Moore's Law) "Magnetic disk storage density doubles approximately every 18 months, which also means that the cost of storage will half every 18 months thus enabling online services to give us more storage without charging more."

3. Linus' Law
"The motivation for everything falls into three categories: survival, social life, and entertainment." There is also another one: "if you throw enough smart people at something, they will work out to fix it."

4. Wirth's Law
"Software is getting slower more rapidly than hardware getting faster."

5. Godwin's Law
"As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Hitler or Nazis approaches 1." Though I wouldn't know anything about this, as I don't really participate in online discussions.

6. Fitt's Law
(Human-computer interaction) "The time it takes to move and click on something is a function of how far away it is and how big it is."

7. Metcalfe's Law
(Originally for fax and computers) "The value of a telecommunications network is proportional to the (amount of connected users in the system)^2."

8. Goodhart's Law
"Any observed statistical regularity will tend to collapse once pressure is placed upon for control purposes."

9. Amara's Law
"People tend to overestimate the effect of technology in the short run and underestimate the effect of technology in the long run."

10. Rule 34
"There is porn of it, no exceptions." Internet can really destroy your innocence if not careful.
