lunatic_cafe: Backfiring Plans

It had taken her long enough to get out of the bar. To make matters worse, when she's gotten home ... Larry had been waiting on the front step.

That wasn't good. He'd smacked her around a little and she'd faked being 'scared'. Being a good actress had its benefits. For the next few days, she'd finished quietly packing her things. She'd also gone into town and gotten plastic PVC bullets - they'd still hurt when she nailed Larry in the chest with them, but it wouldn't kill him.

She had the loaded gun and her suitcase downstairs. If she timed it just right she could catch Larry on his 'nap'. Otherwise it was very hard to get out of the house for things.

Unfortunately, nothing ever went her way. He'd seen her and she knew it - she grabbed the bag over her shoulder and her gun in one hand...but she'd forgotten something important - Larry was big. Big, and an ex-boxer. She'd felt his fist connect with her jaw. The ring he wore cut a thin line and she hissed, swinging around the shotgun in an attempt to hit him.

It worked. She dropped the shotgun and ran with the bag, hoping to at least out-run him. That seemed like a good plan. But she'd forgotten about the shotgun.
