rained out@ triladies

and so race day came and gone.

so did the rain. so it washed away the race.

and due to safety reasons, the organisers cancelled the race.

only managed to swim one loop in the sea (750m), to which the HEAVY rain came, thunder and all, as most of us struggled with the weather conditions and the waves. the mind jus keep going 'do not panic, just keep swimming'. the coming back to shore part was exceptionally tough with the belting rain and choppy waves. and when i finally finished swimming one loop back to shore to start the 2nd loop, saw the monkey swim coach who shouted at me 'come on ,move  A! no more swim just go to your bike NOW!' in the thunderstorm.

and i thought maybe there is hope yet, we'll just continue without doing one more loop of swim. and so ran to the transition area, whlist some boys holding hoses tried to hose us down. and then at the transition area, all my stuff were wet. my shoes, helmet, towel, socks. but i guess even being girls, no rain is going to stop us as we proceeded to move out with our bikies.

and jus as when i moved out and got comfortable on the bike in the pouring rain, was stopped by one of the officials who said the race has been cancelled.

one can only imagine the disappointment. not only me but that of the other 300 over women.

so much for the hype and anticipation leading to the race, but i guess no one can really predict and control the weather. but the most irritating of it all was that it stormed for about 20mins or so and the sun came out after that and the weather was as hot and sunny as ever even till now! bah.

so now i feel fat. all carbs loaded for the race but with unexpended energy.

to the gym i go.
