Okay, so I have just opened a Twitter account, I have found a few people who showed up when I did a brief search but if I have missed anyone, or if you have any recommendations on who else I should follow please let me know. As I am very new to Twitter I have no idea how it all works so will be having a play around this afternoon ( Read more... )

Not sure what I'm going to put on Twitter, I can't get it on my cellphone as it's too old so it will only be while I'm on the laptop. I will head over and search you out. At the moment it's apparently 'over capacity' so it won't let me add the photo or any personal details. Such is life!

Don't do Twitter, just wanted to pass on my condolences for Gemma. Sending hugs to you and Boo both...

Little sidenote...lost our last dog a year ago and kept saying we wouldn't get another dog anytime soon (have 4 cats),we go camping a lot with kids, didn't want to be "tied down" (cats are so easy), lots of made-up reasons. Went to friends' house last night, they have two dogs, as soon as we got home started looking at puppy breeds online although since this won't be a hunting dog we'll probably go to a shelter. Anyway, hang in there, time is a wonderful thing...

Thanks you! I know exactly what you mean. For eighteen years I had two male cats and when they died I didn't think I would get any more. I went on holiday to the US and stayed with two friends while I was out there, one had two cats the other had five. Needless to say, once I was home I visited the animal shelters and ended up with nine year old sisters Boo and Gemma. I still have Boo, at the moment she is curled up beside me on the couch, she is well and hopefully has a few more years in her yet, she just needs to diet again, unfortunately having to feed Gemma a variety of food and often meant that she has put on weight, could hardly give Gemma every food under the sun and nothing to Boo!

Definitely understand...one of my cats has a weight problem. We measure the food out for each cat and when Shadow is done with hers we take her off to the bedroom. Trust me, she definitely shows her displeasure at that! LOL, nothing like a pissed-off Princess. It's working, though, she's lost a bit and is much more active.

Yeah, somehow I always manage to find myself in the position where I have one underweight cat who likes to nibble little and often and one who is supposedly on a diet, it happened with the boys and again with the girls, at least now that I only have Boo there will be no temptation for her to steal anyone else's food (apart from mine but I will say that she is very well behaved and, unlike Gemma, does not stick her paw up and steal food off plates). Boo actually got down to around 3.5kg previously so she knows she can do it, I'm just mixing her Hills RD with a few other biscuits to get her back in the swing of things and will gradually reduce the amound of Hills, Iams, Go-Cat, James Wellbeloved (we had every make under the sun to tempt Gemma) until she's just on the RD again!
