Now, t
his is a series that i liked but not enough to get the books and read. Needless to say, the series is based on the books by James Patterson. A genre that i am so not interested in. I read when i start, and finish, but don't enjoy it.
It's your simple detective story. Brings back the "cool cop", something i haven't seen since Lethal Weapon. Difference is, and what made me watch it, we have these four women with their unofficial club, solving cases together. All professional, passionate, career-driven, obsessed, bad-ass as much as they can be, and all imperfect. That's the keyword, isn't it? The inspector being the lead, both in the club and in the story, there are quirky dialogues too. Just when they are discussing how and why's of a man's murder by a car running over him repeatedly and thus severing his head and arm, the talk suddenly turns into their personal lives, jabs at failed marriages, advice about latest boyfriend etc. There was also a skull-candy bowl i liked so very much. The series is full of these domestic, maternal things in between crime and gore.
Bad news is, there are only 13 eps with no plans for more. And the story, while all crimes get solved, leaves off just when things are getting somewhere. I so wish they consider to go into a second season or something. This has great potential, if you ask me.
From left to right, it's the assistant District Attorney, a little promiscuous, the inspector, the divorced, bad-ass cop, the nosy reporter who is quite resourceful, and the forensic pathologist/physician/mother who does free counseling and is in need of it too.
The lady-cop is played by
Angie Harmon. She is said to be having a part in Chuck's next season. (something i'm really looking forward to) I hope she does, because i liked watching her. She is tall *gah*, dark eyed/haired *gah*, thin *double gah* and so fit *GAH*. I mean, she has abs! *headdesk* I'd be drooling if i were a guy. It's more like jealousy as i am. There is something to put an end to this though. I found this review on IMDB.
"...Having said that I think Angie Harmon is gorgeous. I thought I had found the woman of my dreams, then I discovered she was a Republican who supported John McCain for president. Another illusion shattered... "
Another jealousy shattered, thank you. Then again, noone can be perfect, can they?
I am so going back to the gym. With no hard feelings.
