When did you first notice Battlestar Galactica? Were you a fan of the original and decided to give the new one a try out of curiosity? Did you take the persistent pestering recommendation of a friend? Or did you find it by complete accident while you were channel surfing? i dunno why i'm answering this, you've already heard this story a bazillion times, but here it goes again. :)

i was in dallas, bored to death, and happened to pick up donnie darko from a friend. the movie literally changed my life, but that's another story, for another time. anyways, mary mcdonnell was in it, whom i loved as a child in dances with wolves and later in id4, but haven't heard of in ages, so i decided to imdb her and see what she's been up to. that's when i noticed bsg.

now i had heard of the show before, but frankly i wasn't interested, considering i had watched the original series as a child and found it (now, at any rate) silly. plus, the fact that tricia helfer's boobs and bottom were at the time used in pretty much all the ads was also a minus: i resent advertising that uses women to sell products. the thought that mary mcdonnell had agreed to be in it kind of changed my mind though: she wouldn't be in a show that's THAT cheesy, or horrible, right? RIGHT?

anyways, i didn't actually started watching the until a month later, in january 2006, and it's been everlasting love ever since. actually, since 33. the mini was good, but 33 was (and still is) mindblowingly good.

Yeah, it takes a lot of effort for me to sit down and watch the mini. I can watch bits and pieces... like Laura being sworn in Roosevelt-style or Boomer being forced to leave Helo behind on Caprica (surprisingly, one of my favorite moments ever because it's so heartbreaking, LOL). But the whole thing? Uh uh.

33... 33 just PWNS.
