I just watched another CW-show dealing with the supernatural; Secret (or Inner) circle something and it strikes me how fricken many shows of the genre there are! In the '90 I can't remember but one X-Files and yes, that one was really good until they started with the Mulder/Scully. That's when I dropped it. Then there was Buffy and the spinn-off, maybe some other but not like today. Today there's nothing but elements of the supernatural and cop shows.
What is it with this time and age that produces this many series of this particular genre? The evil and uncontrollable?
Is it the fat that it seems all control is out of or hands and we're victims of an insane economy? Is this how small we feel in the scheme of things? Granted, the market is all about psychology and yes, it is changing so fast we pretty much can't plan for more than a 3 months ahead, like the market does.
A very small group of very rick are playing havoc with our society and we are fed tales of the supernatural? Why doesn't it surprise me?
Also caught Ringer, just for Sara Michelle Gellar and that one seems somewhat promising. One thing I don't get though is how charmless and boring the guys were. They were all perfectly flawless, but damn, the lack of uniqueness in their personalities was jarring. Or maybe it was just that SMG outshone them all?
I can't fricken wait till Community starts! I just can't get enthusiastic over anything else.
And oh oh oh!
