Farewell My Tooth

Feb 06, 2006 17:14

Alas my tooth could not be saved.
And yes, I was so scared that I seriously considered the general anesthetic option- so thanks to J and the ladies who convinced me to get it over and done with.

Firstly- I can't recommend the ladies at the Yokine Dental Centre enough. Professional, friendly, knew exactly what they were doing and put up with a blubbering tooth extraction virgin admirably.

Secondly- My tooth extraction recommendations. Emergency essence- a lot of it, valium, some nice strawberry flavoured numbing jell, 2 needles, gas-Whoohoo!, and a supportive partner to hold your hand. Oh and little vocal trance because the nice ladies let me put on my own music! (this was after my protests against John Farnham 'Help me if you can I'm feeling down', and their second attempt, Europe 'The final countdown'. Both of these giving me the giggles thanks to some nice gas I was receiving.)

The end result was that I had a nice buzz going, I kept thinking I was at a dance party, and I kept wondering why someone was tugging on my jaw.

I can now feel my palate, nose and lips again. So far no pain. I have started on J's tooth extraction aftercare protocol which involves the following- ibuprofen, chocolate and vanilla yogo, chocolate icecream and jelly, mango yoghurt, soup and for later a diazepam. I also have a colleague coming to give me healing products. So all round I'm well looked after.

Mountain is now regular mole-hill sized.
