For those of you who aren't eyeball-deep in the latest Potter book yet, I've got a question for you. What is it about the Harry Potter series that you find so compelling? I'm particularly interested to hear from avid sci-fi/fantasy readers.
I'm asking because I don't "get" the Harry Potter craze. Don't get me wrong. I don't dislike the Potter. It's fun. It just doesn't enthrall me like other series (books, movies, or TV) do.
Also, I've only read part of the first Potter book and seen all of the movies except the most recent. Please don't hurt me!
