So. No shampoo in carry-on luggage anymore. I feel safer already.

madwriter posted the most sensible analysis I've seen so far of the alleged terrorist scheme to blow up airplanes with liquids. Keeping in mind my limited knowledge of chemistry (college Chem I and II and geochemistry), the guy's analysis seems sound. It's long, and IMO worth every ( Read more... )

Interesting post, and one that makes me feel better about hubby's impending trip to your fair shores (London to DC, first thing Monday morning, woo-bloody-hoo). My sister-in-law is so paranoid that she wants to cancel their trip to Canada, but I'm more taken with the idea that faulty science or not it's probably safest to fly during a "crisis" than otherwise.

We have a tv series here called Brainiac that specialises in answering daft "scientific" questions and blowing up stuff (mainly caravans). The recipes are pretty easy to follow. I await the day when TPTB decide that this variety of entertainment is just as dangerous as crossing the road walking past a mosque.
