Disclaimer: I don’t own Bleach, it was created by Tite Kubo, and is licensed and owned by Shonen Jump and VIZ. I make no money for the writing of this story. Tatsuki is well over the age of consent in this fic and is in a married relationship.
Hollow poison was something that cut deep into Tatsuki’s shoulder. The Val Tudo champion could barely stop herself from succumbing. Red haze framed her field of vision the minute she tried to move her own arm and it moved on its own will.
With a screechy voice the white masked hollow laughed. The noise gritted Tatsuki’s nerves like nails on a chalkboard. “You’re a troublesome pain, human. Stay still while I such out your soul…”
“Won’t… let you take me over,” Tatsuki gritted between clenched teeth.
“Then put an end to your own life, you pain in the ass,” hissed the hollow inside. Hands flew towards her throat before Tatsuki could properly stop them.
“And your baby’s soul will also be mine…”
He had just said the wrong thing. Her foot slashed out, connecting with a force that could crack bones. Instead, the hollow let out a piercing scream. Thankfully, none of her friends were around because she had run away the instant the hollow had bitten her. Slammed against the wall her legs would not allow her to move at the same time her own hands tightened around her throat. Tatsuki strained against this, screaming at her own brain to obey her words.
“I won’t let you destroy me, or my baby,” Tatsuki gritted, forcing her own hands to stop from clenching harder. It took all of her summoned will applied to those limbs and fingers not to squeeze but they strained just from this. Unclench the fingers, pull them off, and pull her hands back. Step by agonizingly slow step her limbs moved under mostly her own control. Two bright blinding flashes zinged, cutting into the hollow.
Though she anticipated great pain, the arrows hit precisely in a way that would cause no damage, but the hollow howled. However, it did not dissipate. Light flashed off a pair of glasses that Tatsuki was never gladder to see the owner off. No eyes were visible beneath the glowing lenses.
“Step away from her filthy hollow,” said the stern voice. “And I’ll make your departure swift.”
“Quincy… I thought you were all off destroying Soul Society!” hissed the hollow.
“Shows what you know,” Ryuuken said. He turned away just enough for the white suited figure to fire a third arrow right into its body. It shattered to spiritual bits, being destroyed. Ryuuken pushed up his glasses in distaste while Tatsuke struggled not to cry out. The pain in her hands was nothing to resisting the hollow poison inside her.
“Tatsuki, are you in any other pain or discomfort?” Ryuuken asked, striding up to her.
“My body is on fire,” she whispered, biting her lip.
“Is it pain? If so, how high is it on a scale of one to ten?” he asked, reaching up to caress her cheek. For some reason that cool calculating look inflamed her even more. Tatsuki panted deeply, glancing into the icy blue eyes fixed on her with a mix of concern and irritation. She had put herself in danger as well as their child, in order to help someone else.
“It’s a five, but I feel something else,” she muttered.
Frowning Ryuuken reached into his jacket and pulled out a small box and a syringe. He pressed a cartridge into it, and then held it up to her deltoid muscle in her shoulder. Tatsuki hissed in discomfort as the needle pricked her skin and compressed air delivered the antivenin into her system. “You are fortunate I had the treatment on hand…”
“Will it hurt the baby?” Tatsuki asked.
Clicking his tongue Ryuuken glared at her. “You dare ask that now after what danger you’ve put both of yourselves in?”
“Ryuuken…” she sighed.
“Do you realize how reckless that was?” Ryuuken asked in a scolding tone. “How putting yourself in danger and the child is foolhardy and unnecessary?”
Although his words all rung true, Tatsuki’s independent streak defiantly burned through his reasons. Her first impulse was to bite back, so she retorted, “Who else was around to help them?”
“Dozens of shinigami! When are you going to stop concerning yourself with the fate of the dead and focus on the living! Our unborn child needs you alive, or did you…”
“It could have come after us next!” Tatsuki snapped at him, dark brown eyes glaring defiantly at him.
“You are my wife, Tatsuki. I will not tolerate such foolhardiness,” he replied icily. “You should know better!”
“Are you going to throw me over your knee and spank me?” Tatsuki asked, rolling her eyes.
Narrow blue eyes closed almost to slits. “Don’t tempt me,” he said in a low voice.
“Maybe I should know better, but I can’t change who I am, not even for you,” Tatsuki said instead, swallowing hard.
“We all modify our behavior to suit our needs and stations in life. Do not use nature as an excuse to be sloppy or endanger others. This was the reason that Uryuu has no talent or any business being a Quincy,” Ryuuken replied, pressing her up to the wall so their bodies locked together.
For a moment, she saw the pain of loss on his face, connected with something else. “Do not make the cost of a moment’s heroics cut off the future of life. For yourself and our child.”
“Ryuuken, you lost someone else to a hollow didn’t you?” muttered Tatsuki, slowly nodding.
“There are many secrets in my past I don’t see fit to bring up, but the loss of cherished ones is more than enough to prevent such a repeat…” Ryuuken breathed in her ear, nose buried in her neck.
Sobering reality crashed down on Tatsuki at that moment. Just how selfish was she being, placing her life and their child’s life at risk when others could have taken the battle? Her first duty was to her child and family, one that she had forgotten in her haste to save two plusses that were already passed on.
Sighing she buried her face in Ryuuken’s neck. “I’m sorry. I was wrong to put our child in danger, and I suddenly realize why you are so adamant about life being more important than death. I was selfish.”
Hands gently boosted her cheeks up to face him as his eyes met hers, softening. “Your apology is a step in the right direction. Indeed, it is most appreciated. You’ve just show me that you accept and take your role seriously.”
Nodding slowly, Tatsuki felt tears stinging her eyes. She and Ryuuken had created this new life together, and she had to grow up and put the child’s life first. As she had done before. Her needs were secondary, for she had taken on responsibilities. “For the sake of our child, I am sorry. I… I get it now.”
“Only when a youth becomes a parent themselves do they learn such lessons of life,” Ryuuken coughed a bit, caressing her lips with his thumb. Tatsuki nodded soberly.
“Damn it. That was so stupid of me,” she mumbled, shaking her head as she squeezed her eyes shut, fingers seizing the folds of his jacket and hanging on tightly.
“You are not in control, and you hate such circumstances, yet you can control the methods in which you react and adapt,” Ryuuken whispered in her ear. “Facing them with dignity and self restraint.”
“You’re my husband, and I’m your wife,” Tatsuki repeated quietly. “And we’ve a child to raise. It’s time I grew up.”
“You already are grown up. Even the adults can benefit from lessons in maturity. Learn from your mistakes as I have, and improve yourself to the service of others, considering the implications of your actions. At this moment you have, and I could not be prouder of the woman I have chosen now,” he whispered.
Tatsuki’s breathing became more labored as she kissed his shirt, and inhaled his scent. Ryuuken felt her hands smoothing over the white cloth of his suit, and murmured, “Are you still in pain?”
“Just a bit, but I feel… really aroused,” she admitted sheepishly.
“A side effect of the antidote,” Ryuuken murmured, arms locking her to his slender body.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and dragged him forwards. “This side effect makes want to eat you up. Did you think of THAT?"
Ryuuken suddenly pressed her into the alley wall, and let her arms wrap around his neck while her legs wrapped around his waist. “Could be very dangerous if it is not summarily dealt with.”
Unsure if he was serious or not, Tatsuki glared at him. Yet Ryuuken simply picked her up and carried her towards where his car was parked. He opened up the door by pressing the unlock button, and opened the door for her, still allowing her to cling to him. Ryuuken then placed her on the front passenger seat.
Desperately she clutched the front of his jacket, but Ryuuken frowned. “Here is hardly a safe place, young lady!”
“I trust you,” she mumbled.
A small sigh escaped his lips. “Stand up.”
She felt him pull her to her feet, and then bent down to let the seat down all the way. Moving her out of the way, he sat down, and reached his hands out to her. Tatsuki cocked her eyebrow up yet climbed into his lap. With enough momentum, she tugged the door so it slammed shut by gravity.
“Inform me if this is too uncomfortable,” Ryuuken murmured, guiding her to lean against his back. His hands reached around and slid down her front, pulling at her shorts. Tatsuki slid them down with his assistance, revealing her underwear beneath them. Slowly Ryuuken reached down to caress her through them, between her bare legs with small strokes of his fingers. He spread his legs so she could sit between them in the comfortable leather seat, kissing the nape of her neck.
“Ryuuken,” Tatsuki murmured, leaning back against his chest so their bodies fitted together perfectly. His other hand reached around and unbuttoned her blouse just enough to reach into her bra and squeeze at each breast in turn.
Over her finger his hand glided, their gold rings gleaming in the light. “Tatsuki… give into the desire… I am here…”
Tatsuki shivered. “Then the shot didn’t take care of all the poison?”
“Correct,” murmured Ryuuken, dipping his hand into her underwear to move it aside. “Now, touch yourself for a bit till I ready myself.”
Though Tatsuki reached back behind her she could only clumsily help him undo his pants and belt buckle. Slowly he slipped them down enough to free himself and she braced her hands on the armrests to help him boost her up. Skirt hiding what they were doing, the couple joined their bodies together with low groans.
Ryuuken’s breath hissed gently against her ear. Tatsuki breathed in and out deeply for a minute before she started to rock in his lap. Up and down, he pushed in and out of her in perfect unison to her tempo. His teeth and tongue nipped at the nape of her neck where her hair began.
“Mmm,” she groaned, eyes losing focus to the rain pitter-pattering on the windshield outside. It blurred the view of the grey city and the lights to twinkling stars. Even though real stars whirled invisibly in the sky far above, the orange light bouncing off the heavy rainclouds that opened up fully on Karakura town obscured them.
Ryuuken’s hands glided over her breasts, pinching her nipples very gently because they were sensitive before moving down to her belly and caressing it. His teeth grazed her ears, pierced with diamond studs. Glancing down she saw her knees parted and his under hers rising and falling. Inside the car, the window fogged up from their combined exhalations and soft cries.
At the base of her spine, she felt blue energy gathering, and her vision grayed out so she could not see shortly. That feeling of tension burst forth overtop Tatsuki sending waves of pleasure that curled her toes in her shoes. “Ryuuken!” she cried out hoarsely.
“Tatsuki…” he gritted, nipping her ear. She heard his hot labored breaths minutes before the hot surge of passion entered her. Panting he collapsed under her after she arched her back. Hearts pounded against breastbones both under her spine, and in her own chest. Nevertheless, she could imagine Ryuuken an extension of her own body and being who had propelled her to the heavens and back with his lovemaking.
Turning her head, she caught his mouth in a soft kiss. Ryuuken’s arms wrapped around her gently, holding her close. Poison burned out of her body now, extinguished by love and passion. Though her life was out of control, she knew that she had the power to shape it to her whim if she remembered who was there for her. Truly, she was not alone, no more than he was.
Tatsuki broke the kiss, panting. “I love you, you old bastard.”
Ryuuken’s glasses flashed orange as he shifted his head. “As do I, you impudent young lady…”
Together both their hands rested on her belly, knowing that the next few months would bring them many more hardships. Yet they would face them together.
