Contact From USS Murgatroid Re: An Alleged Duplicate Storvik

Sep 25, 2003 14:45

"We'll get back to you," the station commander said, and cut the signal; ending the conversation with Commander storvik of the uss_murgatroid. Indeed, he had been humoring the Vulcan, as he was seriously skeptical of anything the Murgatroid crew (and this Vulcan in particular) said or did. Not to say he hadn't (eventually) "come to grips" (so to speak) with the gender-reversals, and come to enjoy (again, so to speak) the experimentation that this led to -- but he'd still had a lot of work containing the chaos that came with the Murgatroid; and heard various rumors from station personnel about the odd behavior of Commander storvik.
Still, he was obligated to at least follow-up on the Vulcan's request, to see if there was any possibility that the Vulcan was telling the truth. It sounded crazy; but then, one really couldn't be surprised at anything relating to the Murgatroid anymore. The stories he'd heard about their counsellor were even harder to believe, but he'd seen recordings and spoken to many eyewitnesses (but declined to actually go anywhere near Lothar in person).
It seemed that most records of Storvik's visits on station were missing -- the command staff were unable to account for their absence. "Either this duplicate Storvik is hiding himself," the commander thought, "or we are indeed being played with, and sent on a wild Tribble chase." What little information they had on Surak's Razor and an incident where Storvik was assaulted by Lothar were been compiled for broadcast to the Murgatroid.
Finally, a sensor sweep on starbase668 and the ships in docking facilities was run as requested. The only Storvik that located was the one aboard the uss_murgatroid -- there was no sign of any duplicate, nor could they detect any shielded area in which he might be hiding.
The station commander sent what information they had to Commander storvik on the uss_murgatroid; he then instructed his communications officer not to let storvik through if he tried to call back and "waste any more of my time."
"In fact," the Commander continued, "I don't want to hear anything about that damned Vulcan again."
