There's no question who it is; Joanna is her father's daughter right down to the eyebrows.
They haven't been introduced. Yet. He crouches.
"Uh. Okay, so what's the error, and what's your source?"
"I heard you say you was glad his ex got the whole bad-word planet. Mamma has two lousy acres."
Eyebrows and eavesdropping, then. Jim grins internally. "I'll update my files."
"Who's the liar?"
"No one. Figure of speech."
"Yeah? Then why ain't he here more?"
Crap. "…Long story."
