[The video opens to Yoko, with an expression not too unusual for someone who just woke up in someone else's bed. Say hello to an outfit that is quite literally out of this world but you're probably not paying attention to that, are you?As much as I feel like I should be complaining about waking up in some strange place in an even stranger world, I ( Read more... )

[There's a sound of book pages flipping in the background.]

According to this manual here... these "Pokemon" can eat anything from electricity to just regular berries. So I suppose it's not much of a stretch for that breed's diet to be mainly dirt. There's certainly plenty of minerals...

I can't imagine dirt can taste very good.

...How does someone eat electricity?

I can't say I'm entirely certain. This is all new to me as well, I'm afraid.

But... flavor aside, there really isn't any harm in it eating a little dirt from time to time.

Yes, just a few hours ago. There's quite a bit to catch up on, it seems.

What's your name? I'm Litchi Faye-Ling.

N...no, just "Yoko" is fine.

Ah... I'm sorry. Force of habit. Yoko, then.

Although... a new concept?

[Voice] I don't know where I found this out, but I know it's not just headcanon. star_tits August 8 2010, 20:32:07 UTC
Yeah. Back when we lived in our villages, we only had a need for a single name. Once we started living in the city, though, we were given last names, depending on what the name of our village was.

I don't know why, though. It was Rossiu's idea.

[She sounds amused.] That's actually not all that uncommon as a starting point for last names. Villages and professions, that sort of thing.

So where does "Faye-Ling" come from?

[Voice] boobie_lady August 8 2010, 21:11:35 UTC
It was just a common name in the province my family came from. Something of a device to keep track of who came from what area -- rather similar to being named for a village, honestly.

I see.

You won't mind it if I call you Litchi, would you?

Of course not. Please, feel free. [Not like she has any reason to be called "doctor" here without her clinic, after all.]
