Today was an old school good day!

Working a million hours...yeah...whatever, but I walked into work only to find:

It was SUPER interesting. He is my #1 all-time R&R hero as well. I think one thing that really stands out in that documentary is how humble and gracious he is. (which I've heard about before). But its just insane how unfazed he is. Like, conceptually, what the Clash accomplished doesn't come across in his personality, you know what I mean?

One of my favorite scenes is when he's on the Jersey pier and he had pieces of paper where he wrote out in a sharpie: "Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros at this venue and at this time" and he was just handing them out to people -- and NO ONE TOOK ONE. People looked at him like he was crazy! He even said to this group of girls: "Come see my band! They're English...they're thin...They're sexy!" And they still walked away...it blew my mind Mike, seriously! If I saw Joe Strummer, just walking around...I'd be like: "HOLY CRAP!"

The live footage was really intersting, there was some studio footage too that was really intersting. Check it out!!

:)

I'm not sure...the reissue is sitting in a bag in my living room (I'm in my room) I'll have to check and get back to you on that.

Aw, I have to see it. Strummer never got the cred he deserved. People who don't appreciate him must be fools and/ or blithering idiots. Because he is THE man.

I love him.

BTW, isn't it his birthday today (8/21)?

Cheers, uncle Joe!

The commentary about the movie was really interesting, and Dick Rude (director) will pretty much agree with you that he didn't get the cred he deserved.

Joe Strummer IS TOTALLY THE MAN!

<3 to Joe Strummer!
