I've been watching a Let's Play of Professor Layton and the Unwound Future in German; since I can't find a good ROM of the German version, this is the next best thing. While I can't understand everything, it is fun to see which characters use "du," the informal "you," and which ones use "Sie," the formal form.
Of course, I'm also wondering if it's more common to use endearments in German. Either that, or Dimitri really is flirting with Layton. I also wonder if it's more common to refer to people by their last names, but that doesn't really explain why Dimitri refers to Layton by his first name but not his former friend, which differs from the English version. But besides that, there aren't that many differences between the two versions.
