Puppy Search: Attempt 1

Feb 14, 2010 14:08

Result:  No puppy yet.

It was so much fun getting to play with 6 puppies at the same time, even if it was only for 30 minutes.  When all 6 of them mobbed us as soon as we let them out of the pen I was in heaven.  The first few minutes was nothing but getting nibbled and sniffed and kissed, but then they started to mellow out and show us their real personalities.  A couple of them were really bitey and rather than nibble us with their front teeth like most puppies, they angled their heads to the side to get maximum bite-force on our fingers.  Ouch!  But we narrowed it down to two real cuddlebuddies who kept coming back to crawl into our laps when they needed a break from playing: the biggest male who weighed in at a whopping 10lbs,"BigBoy" and his doting sister, "Crybaby".

I really wish I had a camera for while "Crybaby" would come visit Micah. She would stand in his lap while he talked to her and she would just look at him like she was hanging on his every word.  <3

As beautiful as they all were, we didn't feel any sparks, so we had to go home empty handed.  Just before we left, O.C. (the proud Shiba Inu papa) wanted to play fetch with his favorite toy:  a rock.  XD  I could've stood in the driveway and played fetch with that dog ALL. DAY.   The only way we could escape was to have the owner call OC into the house, but OC refused to come.  I picked up OC's favorite rock (if I picked up a rock other than this one he seemed confused) and gently tossed it through Chris' open door.  Sure enough, OC went right after it without a second thought.

We were a little sad driving back home, but not heartbroken.  It was an awesome experience and we're looking forward to sitting on more floors and meeting more puppies before we find the one that is meant for us. :)
