Well, I did it. Completely re-wrote my first completed fic from top to bottom. It clocks in at around 88,000 words, which I'm pretty sure is much longer than the original. I cut a bunch of scenes and combined some others, but I also added some which I felt were missing.

First three chapters are up on AO3 so far and shockingly there are actually 16 hits and a kudos which is 16 and 1 more than I thought there would be for an 18 year old story.

It's stupid, and was probably a huge waste of time of the past few months, but I feel accomplished and cleaning up that story is something I've wanted to to for probably 15 years. Conveniently, I finished just in time for NaNoWriMo, and there are some similar emotional beats in ALOOH and my NaNo original YA novel that I'm going to work on, so I hope it acted as good prep. At the very least it's enforced good writing habits. I get so uncomfortable if I don't get to go to Starbucks and write every day now.
