Happy Belated Halloween! It was pretty intense handing out candy on Sunday night when I was still feeling sore from the time-change, party all night at a Saturday Halloween Yucca Party. Good Times though, Good Times!
For those who don't know..*Even though I have few LJ readers..or commenters :( ;Yucca is a sweet concoction that is made up of 1 bottle of Tequila, about 6 sliced limes, about 6 sliced lemons, and we threw in a few sliced oranges, ice, and some sugar. Mix all ingredients in a big pickle jar, or ice tea jug. Wrap it in a towel, cuz it will be cold and slippery! Pass the Yucca around to your group of amigos and the tradition is whoever shakes the Yucca, can drink the Yucca. You pass it around to everyone, all for about a half an hour to an hour; basically until frothy and all the ice is melted. When that task is accomplished you form a circle, take off the top and begin passing it around to each person in the circle. Feel free to cheer when it is finally back in your hands, no one will disagree, and probably mimic you later on. :)
Yeah, it was my first Yucca. I requested that we bring Yucca to the party. It was really good though, we had like 30+ people sippin it, and a mighty fine night ahead of us. I danced all night long, with only 4-5 people dancing around me too. I was dressed as a HOT! Punk Rocker, Ember, my sister was some like Angel/Devil hot chick, and Dan was his mini traveling gnomad (He made his costume, it looked awesome)Even though people thought he was a vacationing Santa.(not even close!) We didn't go to bed until 4 AM, it felt like 5 AM though.
I never really celebrated Halloween before. Besides dressing up after I moved away from my Dad's house. I was in a Haunted House last year. I never had to hand out candy to kids coming up to our porch though. I was dressed the same as Saturday, just a little less accessorized. We had this rock that flashs GO AWAY and laughs twice on our second step. It was hilarious to watch the kids freak out when the set off the motion sensor and it started laughing. It was great. Not too ingenious costumes though, I saw a lampshade and a caterpillar.
I also had to give candy out at work on Sunday because of the parade on State Street that ends right by the mall. Paseo Nuevo was filled of rushes of kids trick-or-treating aging from 1-10. We had at least 250+ kids come through the store, because we had 1500 pieces of candy and if some got 2 from me and then went to the other entrance and got 2 from Ember, they scored! Smart kids! I couldn't even focus on a customer if a rush of kids came in, Ember and I were hungover and she was training a new girl on her first day. Only 3 people and not enough help at all to hand out candy. Craziness. Well thats about it for now.. until I decide to update again.. Maybe some inspiration will come soon..er..
I have made it a law that I am to consume no more candy!
