I never thought that my last day at work would be that hard.
Of course I cried, cuz I'm a big baby like that. Every parent had a kind word and a sincere thank-you for me. Most kids didn't really understand that I wasn't coming back but they gave me big hugs and kisses anyway. And all my co-workers had a sweet goodbye.
I will miss those kids like crazy. I can't even begin to describe the affect they have had on me or the place they will hold in my heart forever.
There is nothing in this world that touches your soul like the glowing smile and wide-eyed wonderment of a three year-old.
And because someone else always says it beter...
I realize now, in the end, it wasn't the children whom I have touched, but the chilren who have touched me.
