[The camera turns on to show a man in his early twenties with long, blond hair, glasses, and a concerned expression. He stares intently at the screen for a moment to be sure that the camera is on before he starts speaking in a deep, soft voice.]

Ritsuka, are you here? Are you injured? Call to me and I'll find you.

[Yuiko had been quietly getting along with her homework in her dorm room when she heard something on her communicator. Within a few moments, she picks it up and looks on in surprise. Soon she appears on the screen.]

Ritsuka's somewhere. I don't where exactly though.

[Soubi's face shows a bit of surprise when he sees Yuiko on the other end of the feed. But he schools his face into a smile quickly: Yuiko is a sweet kid; he won't make her feel sad.]

Yuiko-chan. You've seen him?

Yes, he is somewhere, but I don't know where exactly.

[Her ears flatten slightly, half the time she didn't know where he went, at least she knew he might not have been on the island since she doesn't leave there at all.]

[He looks at her through the camera carefully. Yuiko does not have the look of someone who was recently engulfed in mysterious darkness and thrown into a strange place. In fact, all things considered, she looks fairly comfortable. As do all of the other people here. He takes a guess.]

How long have you and Ritsuka been here?

[Yuiko had paused slightly, thinking about how long they had actually been here. So quietly, she held up her hand and started to count. It was a good few moments before she stopped.]

We've been here for about two months, maybe more.

[He stares, face blank in utter incomprehension.]

That cannot be true, Yuiko-chan. I saw Ritsuka yesterday, and I saw you last weekend.

[Now Yuiko was confused. She knew she and Ritsuka had been here for at least two months, yet he says something completely different.]

But...I'm sure we've been here two months. Unless I've been dreaming up until now.

[He shakes his head. If Yuiko remembers that they have been here for two months, then they have been here for two months. Without him. The cloud of darkness transported him to a new place; who says that it did not transport him to a new time, as well?]

Yuiko-chan, will you tell me the last thing you remember doing before you came to this place?

[She thinks again, trying to remember the last thing before the darkness had taken over.]

I remember talking to Yayoi-kun about curry. I was at school and we had been talking about a trip we were to go on.

[A school trip? Ritsuka had said something about a school trip several months ago. But how can she have been here as well as at home for two months? Not that Yuiko is likely to understand.]

Did Ritsuka come here at the same time that you did?

[She nods slightly, pausing. She wasn't sure exactly when he arrived since it had taken her a good while to find him herself, but she did remember it clearly.]

Around about the same time, yes. It was about a few days after I arrived that I found him.

[Yep. She has to think about it for a while.]

[The feed shuts off. But then three minutes later, it is back on. Soubi is looking decidedly miffed.]
