She's very strong! I'm serious, I haven't known any dog that can do more than she can. She defended me from an enraged Grendel one day and took it down all on her own.

I don't know what a Grendel is, but it sounds like an impressive feat.

A Grendel is a monster from the area around the city we lived in at home. It's a bit taller than a man and has about three times as many muscles, and it likes to go into berserker rages. They're not too bad if you're fighting with a group or can get it tied down, but if you're by yourself, they're terrible.

Uh...not really. Unless you count wolves. There's nothing like the Heartless, or anything magical in my world.

It's something I've never seen back home. There's the occasional luck talisman, but no sign of those actually doing anything.

That sounds... so strange to me. I mean, not everyone at home could use magic, but we all knew it existed...

Hearing about places with magic is just as strange to me.
