[When the video turns on, Anakin glances down, not really into the whole looking into the camera thing. He doesn't voice his real thoughts, such as when is he supposed to do the trials now? And, well, that costume event. He doesn't want to think about it. Instead, he finally looks into the screen once it feels less awkward.]As diverse as the ( Read more... )

[So very pinged; she's been researching and working with exactly those concepts for the months she's been here. Ami smiles politely.]

Mizuno Ami. I'm very interested in plans of this sort.

[He gives her a small nod.]

Do you have anything similar to hyperdrives yet?

No; space travel is very new. Humans have only begun to develop it in the last fifty years or so.

[As Ami, she doesn't remark on the much more advanced technology of the Silver Millenium.]

[Weapons will likely be just as primitive, but he decides to ask anyway.]

[Padmé has to admit that she always loves seeing him develop and work on things. The way his mind works is incredible to her.]

How is it going? Have you learned anything?

[Anakin glances over his shoulder. If there's one thing that gets his attention more than alien technology...] Gummi ships run on positive energy similarly to the way our hyperdrives gather gamma radiation. That doesn't solve the problem of entering hyperspace. Warp blocks seem to act in a similar enough manner, but my idea is a greater source of power would be needed for traveling especially long distances. It would be better if we didn't have to rely on something as rare as warp blocks and instead looked for a source we could use to gather energy from. I think that if I modified the design of the ships and made a new blueprint based on our technology, a better solution could be found. I think these people from the other worlds could have something to offer too though...in case there are shortcuts.

[She's so wrapped up in what he's saying, and watching the expression in his eyes while he speaks, that it takes her a moment to respond. Admittedly it's all a little over her head, but she does know one thing...]

It's a far cry from the Naboo royal starship, but if there's anyone who can make it work, it's you. I've never seen anyone as talented as you are with machinery.
