Elaine is down in the laundry room -- the Mansion does have one, if you go looking, as spacious and modern and well-appointed as all the rest of its rooms, with fancy patterned tile flooring and a whole row of gleaming white machinery, and sinks and shelves of detergent and heaven knows what. But it is, in fact, a laundry room, and she is methodically sorting out darks (mainly denim) from lights (linen shirts and undergarments) at the island in the middle.
