Oliver rolled his shoulders back, trying to relax a bit, and walked out of his 'armory'. Closing everything up, he walked over to the kitchen, rolling up the sleeves of his shirt as he moved. He retrieved a bottle of water from the refridgerator and took a drink before glancing over at the pile of unread notes on the counter ( Read more... )

"Hmph." She returned his comment with a glare, but once he'd settled himself back down on the bed, she snuggled up right close to him.

"I can't help if it I don't have any cooking skills," A grin blossomed on her face, and she returned the light kiss he'd given her earlier. "I just have other, more amazing attributes, that's all."

He 'hmmed' slightly and slipped an arm around her waist. "You do have some rather amazing attributes...for which I am sincerely appreciative." Grinning, he reached up with his free hand and ran a finger slowly across her cheekbone. "Who needs cooking, anyway?"

His lips turned up in a playful smile as he removed his finger, replacing it with his mouth and ghosting a kiss over the side of her face.

She let out a little giggle, proceeded by a definitive eye roll.

"Ha, you can't take it back now. No more cooking lessons or anything else then. I don't need to learn, I can microwave and order take out just fine, thanks." Turning her face, she caught his lips with hers, her hands running slightly on his face.

"You should grow a beard."

Surprised, he chuckled as he replayed her words in his head. Truthfully, he couldn't care less about cooking or take-out...all of that was inconsequential. Her remark about the beard however...

Smirking, he lifted both brows high on his forehead as he continued to laugh quietly. "Really? You have a secret thing for Grizzly Adams I need to know about?" Lifting up his chin, he rubbed his unshaven jaw across her cheek.

She yelped, and tried to pull away, but the position they were in didn't help things. "I do not," she protested, "you're just so finicky about being clean-shaven. I think it'd be neat."

Lois reached up, cupping his face with her hand as she moved her palm downwards. The stubble was rough on her skin, but she had to admit: she did kind of like it. "Besides, no one else on the JL has facial hair. You'd be the first."

Considering that, Oliver remained still as Lois touched his face, watching her thoughtfully. "I could be tempted to try it out," he said. "Of course, if everyone else on the team gets jealous and starts trying to grow their own, I'm shaving it right off. Somehow, I don't think ZZ Top gives off quite the right image the League is going for."

He closed his eyes for a moment, sighing as her hand ran across his face.

Lois had to snort at that. "I don't think the masks would fit with beards. No wonder you're all clean shaven."

She worked her hand up, entangling her fingers in his hair. It was rare he didn't have gel or some other 'product', so she enjoyed the soft feeling when she had it. "Are you still sleepy?," she asked, moving closer to him. "Cause I'm not."

It was truly amazing how quickly his mind could clear...with the right incentive. His eyes widened slightly as he grinned up at her. "I'm remarkably not sleepy at the moment, actually."

Reaching out, he tugged on a long strand of her hair, twisting it around his finger and using it to paint an invisible stripe down the side of Lois' neck. "I did promise to stay in bed, though, didn't I?"

She shivered slightly. His touch reminded her how long it really had been, and she pressed her body closer to his.

Her lips found his, and she started with little kisses, punctuated by the following sentence.

"You did, and as long as we stay on the vanilla path today, I can't see how that could possibly tire you out."

"Vanilla?" He lifted his hand slightly, pushing her hair away from her face, then grinned and flipped them over so he was raised slightly over her.

His mouth moved over hers, sliding down her neck and back up again. He slid a hand underneath her back, pressing her up against him, and grinned against her lips. "That sounded vaguely like a challenge."
