sorry i havent updated yet, but things are just a little crazy here! the program im in has had a lot of things lined up for us this past week, and this is the first day that i had nothing to do! it has been so amazing though. i mean, i know everyone says its amazing, but you can never quite grasp how fantastic it is over here. my flight was good, and it made it even better that i had dj next to me. we watched sin city, and then i watched the simpsons :) while he watched kinsey. everyone on the flight was really attentive and nice and they all had fab british accents! the food was really good too. i had salmon for dinner, and fruit and a muffin for breakfast. it was all surprisingly tasty for airplane food. we had a bit of a problem finding drew at heathrow, but we eventually ran into her, and our driver. the coolest thing about driving to our flat was the fact that we were on the opposite side of the road! it really is difficult to get used to. we met our flatmates, who are awesome fashion majors, and that night our student activity advisor, vicki, took us to dinner and to a pub. we have everything near our flat! there are at least ten restaurants, a pub or two, a couple of supermarkets, a tube stop, and lots of bus stops. the next day, thursday, we went on the london eye (so friggen cool!) and went on jumbo trampolines. pictures will hopefully be up soon, but i dont really know because my computer is still not working. we then went to oxford circus to walk around and just get a taste of it. everything in london is superhuge! oxford circus and picadilly circus both seem to be a LOT bigger than even new york city. then on friday, we went to school to have lots of orientation and learn lots about our program. i think its finally hit me how much work we're really going to have. on saturday, we had more orientation and walked around a LOT at kew gardens. it was truly beautiful, but its been really really hot, so i was exhausted that evening. i took a loooong nap and then a big group of us went out to a club in picadilly circus. ive never really been to a classy club, so it was a new and exciting experience. we left picadilly circus at 3 am, and it was still crazy busy. there are just no words for how crazy that center was.
so that was my first fews days here. its been interesting, exciting, scary, and i feel like a little kid learning something new every day. being here with dj and drew is fantastic, but to be truthful, we do see a lot of each other. every now and then, we do seem to bug one another. but i guess its all part of this experience. our flat is super small and our dryer doesnt work and we dont have an iron and none of our doors like to stay open, but its all worth it to just look outside and see those double decker buses running all night long. everything is really really expensive; however, it just doesnt matter because its so worth it. england is so old and everything here has so much history. our sonnets' professor took us on a couple of walks the past few days, and every single building here has hundreds and hundreds of years of history. its just so fasinating. all in all, i've only been here a couple of days, and i already dont want to leave. i cant wait for classes to start tomorrow, no matter how much work it is. i cant wait to go to wales, scotland, amsterdam, ireland, and germany, even though it will all cost a bunch of money. we've done tons and tons of walking, and my feet hurt, but it just doesnt matter because of all facts im learning about london history. i cant put into words how phenomenal my first couple of days have been. i mean, im gonna be here for three months! i think my brain might burst at the end of this. :)
thats all for now, and dont expect a lot of updates because my computer is having some major issues. but just know that if you're reading this, im thinking about you!
