Hey, so what's up with the lack of dateable men in the world?
I'm in a musical, that's number one.
Then I'm barely at school anymore, so that's two, but you know what? That wouldn't matter anyway because it's the theatre department, and most of the men either have some type of mental problem or they only like to sleep with other men.
Not a good start for me.
Then there are my places of PAID employment: La Cucarachas and the School of Social Work.
There is one (count him) ONE male at La Cuc's for whom English was his first language. He is a theatre major who wants to be a director. We are just friends. The rest (excepting for the German who just started working there) speak mainly Spanish. And all of them, even those who have a good grasp on English (which includes the German boy) have way too much machismo for me to be interested.
The School of Social Work has no students. None. The halls are perpetually empty, the only sounds the sounds of the middle-aged female secretaries (of which there are about 200) gossiping. Did you ever notice how different professions attract people with certain types of names? Every woman who goes into social work is named Patty. I have proof. I filed about 80 "Patricia"s the other day, and my aunt who's a social worker....Oh! Her name's Patty too!
My only hope is that when the weather gets warmer and people start doing things outdoors that maybe I'll meet a guy. I want to take some classes this summer...maybe there too. Like I might take one at the Guthrie. And Kari and I want to take tap.
Time to go pack! Have a great Easter/Passover to everyone! Find an egg and/or eat some matza for me, kay?
