Nautical by Nature
I have spent the entirety of the past 5 days either in or around water...
I have now been in Michigan for six days. WOOHOO! I have been staying with the lovely Lindsay and her parents. We were at her house in Torch Lake from Thursday through Sunday and then we went to Mackinac (pronounced Mackinaw) Island from Sunday until today. I got the full Strauss family tour. :) I have now seen two great lakes (Michigan and Huron), the sand dunes, and the Upper Peninsula. Let me just say to anyone who has never been to Northern Michigan (or any part of Michigan for that matter): it's AMAZING! Torch Lake was absolutely beautiful, and Mackinac Island is awesome. There are no cars on the island...only pedestrians, bikers, and horse-drawn carriages. Lindsay and I will be holding our wedding (to each other...haha) at The Grand Hotel. And a word of advice: cemeteries in the dark are extraordinarily creepy. Pictures will be coming eventually. I forgot how much I missed Michigan...and Lindsay...
So now we're back in Brighton after a wonderful 8 hours in the car and a stop at Wendy's...tomorrow is the mall and wednesday is Cedar Point with Lindsay, Courtney (who I haven't seen in 4 months!!!!!!!!!!!), and Jenn...and of course - Lindsay and Emily's back-to-school boot camp will be occurring daily. :)
so now I have officially written one of those toolish livejournal entries with a detailed update of my life...but oh well...it comes with the territory of having a live journal I guess...
back to good old East Quad in 3 days!
