[He half thinks about abandoning the communicator again, but, well, if he needs to get in contact with Hades again along the way, it's best to have it on him. So he takes that along too as he starts off.]

[Hades is down in the inner chamber, just waiting for his guest to arrive. There won’t be any obstacles in the way. ]

[Ah, good, easy passage. Kain makes steady progress the whole way, not stopping until he reaches that chamber. He makes a respectful nod, and stands at attention as he would for a commanding officer.]

Kain, I’m thrilled you finally came to your senses.

[Poofs over to drape an arm around his new favorite person ever. ]

So you want to come over to the winning side? Its easy enough to do… you just give in to want you want. But! Not too much. If you give up completely the heartless will eat conquer you instead of it being the other way around.

[Retreating now so he can summon a shadow heartless who pulls itself together from the shadows on the floor. ]

[Kain remains rigidly at attention even at the touching, something which would annoy him in other circumstances. He looks curiously at Hades and then toward the Heartless.]

Control it? That's possible?

[Of course he now must try, must give it his best effort. So he concentrates, focusing upon the Heartless.]

[The heartless hesitates as is sways back and forth trying to decide if it should actually come closer or not. Then it inches… this heart controlled by darkness is interesting for it. ]

There you go! I mean it needs a little work, but hey, you got the heartless to move a little. You will be controlling these guys in no time!

So... having more darkness allows a person to control them? I hadn't realized...

[Kain sounds very fascinated, and already is looking to Hades as someone with advice very worth following.]

Exactly. [Smirk. ] But… you do have to make sure you are the one controlling the darkness and that it isn’t controlling you. If you lose control of the darkness even for a second those heartless will take advantage of it.
Just a little more darkness and a bit of practice, you will have these things dancing for you in no time. They are a huge advantage.

[Maintaining control is always a challenge for Kain, but it's one he'll accept.]

Understood. I'll keep working to gain full control over them. [He is so getting into this.] When that happens... I'll be able to make them attack others? Will I be able to control many at a time?

It depends on how strong your powers of control get. Directing a heartless to attack is pretty easy, it is their natural instinct anyway. You just have to point them in a direction and they do what comes naturally to them. Getting multiple heartless to obey is a little more difficult. The more heartless you bring out of the darkness the more focused and careful you have to be.
