Every day of my life, besides Sunday and a few Saturdays, for the past seven months has been spent at Staples. It almost feels like I live there. In an average week I spend 40 hours there, once I spent 60 hours. When I first started I worked in Shipping. I would spend 10 hours in a day lifting boxes off a belt, put them on pallets, wrap them, and load them on to a truck. I couldn't complain, I guess, I was making $9.80 an hour plus a 40 cent shift differential. But the job does suck. Any ways now I work as an M.E.O, its almost my second month as one. It stands for Material Equipment Operator. There are basically 3 trucks that MEOs drive. I can drive 2 of them. One is a stock picker. I drive around on it and pick boxes from all over. They can go up to the 6th level, somewhere around 45 feet high...don't worry too much, I'm harnessed in. Those are nothing compared to the turret. Believe me, it lives up to its name. The thing is basically a moving house. It weighs around 18,000 pounds, without a load. This one is great. To drive it you sit down and operate levers and a steering 'thing'. It goes pretty fast too, and goes up to the 7th lvl. This job is better than shipping. I also make like $11.95 now. However there's one thing that really make me mad about this job. Well i suppose 2 things. 1 I come in on one day and leave the next day, and come in again that same day. You can't say, "See ya tommorrow," because your going to actually see that person "today." The other thing is that i have about 0 live. I am either working or sleeping when i could be doing something. HOWEVER, Tomorrow (wed--i hate that, tomorrow should be tue, but its 3 am) I will be getting 5 sick days! 5 vacation days! and 5 floating hollidays!! Which means that before Aug 1 I have 15 days of life to actually have...all i can say about that is w00t...yea.
Well thats about all that happened today...and tomorrow...unless it snows real bad...they will cansel work and ill be in there on Saturday...rraarr.
(I deleted all my previous entries to start this thing up for real. However, i will bring back my first statement from my journal)
Quixotic is a sexy word, say it.
