So, once again. Quite a while.
This post shouldn't take too long. I just want to say that I was able to go on a road trip last weekend to a WONDERFUL place called Kusatsu. It is the kind of place I could see myself retiring to/disappearing for a couple years to some day. It is my own... not sure how to describe it so others will understand... "Happy Death." Not sure if anyone will get that or not, but it is the only way that I could describe it shortly, and in text. If you ask me about it sometime in person, I can go on about it as long as you wish. It was magical to say the least. In a "lost in the woods, lost to time" sort of way. So yeah, grand time there.
Also, tonight I had the chance to cook for a bunch of people at the YWCA dorm. It wa the first time that I have ever cooked for multiple people in a kitchen, rather than on a grill, and it is nothing as nice as my kitchen at home. But, things turned out rather nicely. Made up 4 different kinds of chicken, nothing fancy though, and some potatoes and onions fried up together. Other people made a salad, some desserts, and one of our resident French students made some crepes and it all went wonderfully. It was quite the task to throw it all together, and with only two burners to work with it could have been better. BUT, worked out pretty damn well if I do say so myself. We indulged, then ate the desserts and crepes on the roof while sipping on Baileys and beer. Played some music on the laptop and we had a grand ole time!
My time here is more and more obviously running short. However, I still have so much to do, and it seems that now, more than ever, I have things planned and trips to embark on. While I know the day of my departure is getting close, I also hold to the thought that I will be back here one day, and I will travel the world to see all of the wonderful people that I have met here again.
