Been a while once again. Just kinda how it goes sometimes I guess. Right now I am sitting in my room after getting home just under an hour ago from Shizuoka. It was a wonderful 3 day vacation from... my vacation. Went there because it was one of the places that Bryce served on his mission and he introduced me to some people he met back then. Kiyoumi, Chihiro, Tomo-chan, Kazumi, and some others. All really fantastic people, nicer than I could have hoped for.
Another completely wonderful part of the trip was the hotel we stayed in. It was right on the coast (unfortunately no real beach nearby) and it was quite affordable, but still very nice. It was great to see the ocean again, especially since it was outside my window when I woke up. Got to see the sunrise (sort of... the actual sun was hidden behind the corner of the hotel, but the rest of the sky was absolutely gorgeous), and breakfast was brought to our rooms, was really good, and only cost 200 yen ($2) each morning! One of the best things we saw while there was the actual grave of Tokugawa Ieyasu, which was actually on top of the hill right behind our hotel. For those of you who are not familiar with the name, he was the third in a sequence of three shoguns (Hideyoshi Toyotomi, Nobunaga Oda, Tokugawa Ieyasu) that successfully united Japan as a single country, and also the one who established Edo (Tokyo) as the capital. He was pretty genius really. So yeah, saw his grave and the surrounding temple area then went to Shiba Koen (Shiba Park), which was the site of the Shiba Castle (which is no longer there since it had been burned down three different times...), ate some DELICIOUS soba which was made by Tomo-chan at a restaurant he used to work at.
Our last day was spent mostly just driving around with Kiyoumi (who totally kicks ass) after Bryce and I had walked for about an hour and a half along the coast before catching a bus to Shizuoka station. Bryce also showed me a really nice walking street called Aoba Park. There are two things to note about this place. Number one is the statue of two fat guys walking into each other. Yes. The other is a fountain where four jets of water spray into an upright sphere that has the top fraction cut off. Eventually it fills up and, due to the weight distribution, tips over emptying out and due to the design of the bowl and the tracks under it, simply rocks back and forth a bit until it rights itself again. Bitchin. *throws two thumbs up*

So, now I am back home, listening to Blue October, sifted through my email, got my final research essay for my youth and Schooling class back and got a 102/108 on it. So, yeah, kicked that papers ass, even though I had to rewrite it after it got deleted the night before it was due... Well, I am going to distract myself with other things for a while as I think about sleep.
Love to you all, in my thoughts always.
