White kitchen walls with a thousand windows...

It was a grand time had by all... of course, that 'all' consisted of Ira and me. But still, we had our own kick ass party of two. We have more in common than I had originally guessed, and it was fun talking to the man while we worked faithfully through our beers.
I have begun to really enjoy Blue October more and more, as their songs range from everything I want to hear through to everything I should hear. Not only that, they are just a really fucking good band. Unfortunately for me though, my iPod has been on the fritz and has decided that it doesn't like music, but it is really fond of a frowny iPod picture and exclamation points.
I turned in my Hosei papers last Friday, and it felt good to get that mini novel of papers off my back. The process is still working, and there will be plenty more papers to fill out and type up yet, but it feels good to have step one taken care of. It hasn't hit yet that I will actually be in Japan by the end of the year, but once it does I know it is going to feel great. I have needed a change of scenery for a long time now, couple years it seems, and I have needed some distance between myself and everything I am familiar with for just about as long. I am quite jealous of Josh in London right now, but I know that when time rolls around, people can feel jealous about me wandering through the streets of Tokyo and packin' around the country (I hope!).
I have a lot of work to get taken care of in regards to all of that, but it will be worth it no matter how things work out. So, step one really isn't over, but I have come to realize that step one is sometimes all we have.
