Mothering

I don’t understand the term full-time mother. I know that it’s supposed to mean a mother that isn’t working and is taking care of there child(ren) all day. So if you do work, does that make you a part-time parent. I think not. The reason I work is to help provide for my daughter. Everything I do revolves around her. Very good point. I have heard from a select few that my kids dont get the care they deserve because I dont stay home with them during the day. But people dont take the time to realize that I do what I do so I can provide my kids the best of everything. I do feel a bit guilty from time to time, and think somehow that Im missing out on their young lives (which im considering being a SAHM now anyway) Working moms are moms just the same as SAHM are. Only difference is that have jobs that require us to leave the house. We dont love our children any less, were trying the best we can.

I wish women could manage to be supportive of one another, rather than constantly sniping at the choices others have made (or had made for them, given how many couples require two incomes to get by).

Even the terminology is problematic - what, staying at home with one's children full-time isn't WORK? It's actually much harder than the office work I do.

It would be nice if we could all be on the same page, and acknowledge that we ALL want the best for our children. And that it's okay for that to mean different things.
